Who in the World is Carmen Sandiego? is the first book released to tie into the Carmen Sandiego Netflix series. It is a novelization of the two-part episode, Becoming Carmen Sandiego. The book was published January 22, 2019, and was written by Rebecca Tinker. It features a foreword by Gina Rodriguez.

Plot[]
After encountering Gray on a train, Carmen begins to retell her experiences with V.I.L.E. She explains that she was found by the side of the road in Argentina as a baby and brought onto the island, where she was raised by the faculty until becoming old enough to enter the school as a student, code named "Black Sheep."
Despite being younger than her peers, Carmen made friends and excelled in her classes. She also managed to steal a cell phone, which ended up hacked by Player: her first connection to the outside world.
Eventually, she plotted an escape. Her first attempt was unsuccessful, but the second time, she succeeded. Seeking a real name, she declared herself to be Carmen Sandiego.
