The Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego? theme song is played at the opening and closing sequence of every episode in the original animated incarnation of the same name. The theme song's sequence was half-animated alongside the parts were fully animated by Andy Heyward's company.

The music for the theme song is "Singt dem grossen Bassa Lieder" from Wolfgang Mozart's "Die Entführung aus dem Serail" while the TV series was released several years later.


The sequence begins with a live-action player is looking at the monitor, typing and clicking. The Chief explains how the title summarizes and his eye focuses on educational subjects. Transition to fireworks, the citizens are dancing on a parade in the Chinese country and the siblings transported. The siblings point at Carmen in the temple. The temple has a statue. The helicopter drops off the statue. Carmen has a glowing globe-like device. The globe-like device flies and gives it to Ivy, Transition to a coffin's eye, Carmen is riding alongside helicopters in a desert. Carmen flies and rushes with camels, The helicopters chasing and the legs of camels moving faster. Zack finds the globe-like device on the sands of Egypt. The siblings look both devices. The device shows with a generated NYC statue and changes into a real design. Carmen is standing on a NYC statue alongside the ropes attached. The siblings climb on ropes and find Carmen. Carmen falls down and flies across NYC. The siblings build a globe-like device and it turns around. Transition to Carmen's hand, the globe-like device catches in the air. Again, the globe-like device turns around and the show's logo appears where a silhouette Carmen puts her hat on.
