Carmen Sandiego Wiki

Episode 64 is the sixty-fourth episode of the first season of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?

Jacqueline Hyde steals the sewing machine from France in the year 1830.

After a Data Boost at the time of the crime, Jacqueline Hyde gives the time pilots clues relating to sweatshops, which lead them to New York in the year 1920. There, Jacqueline Hyde neutralizes their 'fact fuel.'

Following another Data Boost, the time pilots meet up with a tailor who, apart from leaving Kevin in a T-shirt and boxer shorts, talks about Eisenhower jackets, which were popular in the 1950s. There, the time pilots give Global Pursuit.

Afterwards, the Timenet Street Entertainers give clues about robot tailors, which lead them to the year 1994, where they recapture the sewing machine.

Sulman captures Jacqueline Hyde and Carmen.

  • In the first clue, Jacqueline Hyde claims that Jewish and Italian immigrants were working in sweatshops in 1920. That, however, is a bit of an anachronism, as sweatshops are more strongly associated with the 1890's and the first decade of the 20th century. The sweatshops, as immigrant women worked in, had all but vanished by 1920, as the disastrous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911 had been the impetus for reforms setting higher factory standards.
