Episode 5 is the fifth episode of the first season of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?

Summary[]

Dr. Belljar steals the John Bull locomotive from the United States in the year 1831.

After some Global Pursuit in the 1830s, Kevin and the time pilots meet up with Granville T. Woods, an African American inventor whose clues lead them to the year 1905. There, they run low on fact fuel and have to do a Data Boost.

While overhearing a conversation between Dr. Belljar and Carmen, the time pilots travel to Japan in the year 1964, when the bullet train, or "Shinkansen" in the original Japanese, was opened just in time for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Once they go to 1964, however, Dr. Belljar zaps their fact fuel, forcing them to do another Data Boost.

Later, Kevin is summoned to the Engine Room and acquires some clues related to the Chunnel which lead him and the time pilots to 1994, where they reclaim the John Bull locomotive.

Omar captures Dr. Belljar and Carmen.
