Carmen Sandiego Wiki

Episode 38 is the thirty-eighth episode of the first season of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?

Jacqueline Hyde steals the sugar cane from South Asia around the year 3000 BC.

After a Data Boost at the time of the crime, Kevin and the time pilots overhear Jacqueline Hyde telling Carmen that she's in a time when sugar was involved in the slave trade, which clues them into the year 1757. There, Jacqueline Hyde neutralizes their 'fact fuel,' resulting in another Data Boost.

After the Data Boost, the time pilots meet Norbert Rillieux, a freeman who invented a new way to refine sugar and, in the 1850s, moved to Paris after having had enough of prejudice in his native Louisiana.

Following a Global Pursuit in the mid-1800's, the time pilots meet up with the Elephant Guy, whose clues relating to the artificial sweetener aspartame lead them to the year 1981, where they reclaim the sugar cane.

Ryan captures Jacqueline Hyde, but Carmen escapes after Ryan missed the question at the last portal.
