"I've earned my stripes. Call me- Tigress!"
―Official introduction

Tigress is an operative of V.I.L.E. in the 2019 Netflix animated series Carmen Sandiego. She was also Carmen's rival and classmate at V.I.L.E. Academy.

History[]

While her birth name is known as Sheena, her last name as well as other background information is unknown. After graduating, Sheena names herself Tigress just after claiming to have earned her stripes. Due to becoming a more professional thief, it is possible she was scouted by the faculty due to her stealing habit before she joined V.I.L.E. During her time at the Academy, she and Carmen had a rivalry that only grew bigger after the former defected from the organization. Sheena's encounters with Carmen often cause her to put her rivalry first before the mission at hand.

Personality[]

Tigress is often cocky. When faced against an opponent, she often taunts them and becomes ruthless as well as aggressive towards those she does not like. On missions, she doubles down on her ruthless and aggressive nature towards anyone, enemy or ally. Due to her ability to hold grudges with those around her, she often belittles and taunts them causing her to more often than not waste time on missions.

Appearance[]

Tigress is a tall, physically fit, fair-skinned young woman presumably in her early twenties with neck-length platinum-blonde hair, baby-blue eyes, and a small beauty mark on the right side of her face. She also wears maroon-purple lipstick.

For her thief attire, Tigress wears a stealthy one-piece green uniform with tiger-themed stripes that are orange. On missions, she accessorizes with night-vision goggles that are black, green and orange with the eyes in the shape of cat eyes that are a very pale green color. For her weapons, she uses small claws that are attached to the finger area of her gloves.

When on other missions but not acting as a main operative, Tigress disguises herself in public by wearing a green trench coat that is buttoned up.

During her time as a student at the academy, Tigress wore the standard student uniform which consisted of a short-sleeved green collared shirt with dark green and yellow stripes on the sleeves. She also wore the cream pair of leggings with green and white shoes.

Abilities[]

Sheena is a very formidable fighter on her own and has often had enough time to distract Carmen, moments that would sometimes allow Sheena to gain the upper-hand, when in combat, her fighting style is primarily aggressive and more forward than that of her teammates as she uses her sharp claws to attack her enemies with.

Trivia[]

Tigress in Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego

The 1994 incarnation that inspired Tigress.

  • She is based on the character of the same name from the original 1994 series; unlike the original, who was nothing more than a disguise donned by Ivy, Tigress is a separate person in the 2019 continuum.
  • The name Sheena is a reference to the character "Sheena, Queen of the Jungle". Terrain where the "big cats" live.
  • Kari Wahlgren also played another Tigress in DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness based on the DreamWorks animated movie Kung Fu Panda which was voiced by actress Angelina Jolie.
  • She is the closest thing Carmen has to a recurring rival, as they both have a measure of resentment for each other from their days in crime school and it tends to come out whenever they run across each other.
  • She has a background in gymnastics, as shown in Who in the World is Carmen Sandiego? when she does a series of somersaults in Countess Cleo's class.
  • Her choice of heels integrated into her stealth suit is ragged on by Black Sheep, but Tigress claims she doesn't need to sacrifice fashion for the job, as it's the authorities that should be worried about her.
  • Given what has happened in “The Egyptian Decryption Caper,” she may have developed a new phobia of beetles, particularly scarabs, if not all bugs, in general.
    • She had exhibited her dislike for bugs when she and Professor Maelstorm demonstrated the "bait and switch" in the premier.
  • Tigress appears to be the first V.I.L.E. operative to be captured and imprisoned by A.C.M.E., as she is seen at the end of the series imprisoned with the female members of the faculty (all of whom she annoyed).
