In Episode 5, Kevin goes into the Engine Room, where he hears the Engine Crew chanting "Channel Tunnel! Chunnel!" over and over. This clues him and the Time Pilots in that they should go to the United Kingdom in 1994.

In Episode 14, Sir Vile taunts the Time Pilots on an earthquake-stricken city in southern California. Unfortunately for him, the Time Pilots figure out that Sir Vile is in Los Angeles in 1994.

In Episode 19, the Time Pilots meet Recyclo-Man, who tells them about the Earthship Community in Taos, where houses are made solely of what would otherwise be considered trash. This leads the Time Pilots to New Mexico in 1994.

In Episode 40, the TimeNet Weather Report talks about anti-immigrant sentiment among California Republicans, who have recently approved Proposition 187, which denies healthcare and educational opportunities to illegal immigrants.
